Studying Scripture is nothing like doing it. Seminary was a valuable step but provided little guidance on how to do Scripture. Leaving America to work in Romania was unexpectedly difficult. Nothing prepared us for what was to happen.

We didn't know what leaving-it-all-behind would be like, but now we do and we want you to know. It's important. The first thing you need to know is that it can be done. The second thing is that it must be done. Not by everyone, but by a lot more.

Uncertainty and the unknown are two of humanity's greatest fears. People stay where they are, even if it's bad, because stepping into the unknown is worse.

 

In the work of God, fear is the first step.

It must be that way because fear is also the second step.

​

Why do we assume the valley of the shadow of death is a place we accidentally stumble into? If God leads us in paths of righteousness, how can we think the valley is not part of it? And why would we want to get out?
